We Exist To Prevent Days Like Today -- Please PJTN Family -- Join Me In Prayer!
As you are no doubt already sadly aware, this morning an obviously deranged gunman shouting “All Jews must die!” opened fire on a Jewish congregation gathered to celebrate Shabbat at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.
As of this hour, national media is reporting eleven innocent people dead, multiple more injured in a scene of carnage being described by even the most weathered EMS responders as “horrific.”
This despicable, cowardly attack comes as Israel struggles to defend herself from continued terrorist rocket fire from Gaza. Today’s news is a painful reminder that anti-Semitism -- which one writer called "the longest and deepest hatred of human history" -- is alive and well, and not just in the Middle East, but in the U.S., and throughout the world.
I am deeply angered by this act today against our Jewish brethren. As deeply, I am profoundly grateful that because of you, PJTN exists to combat the hatred of anti-Semitism – not just when the news cycle screams the horror of stories such as the one from Pittsburgh. We are here on the frontlines 24/7-365—to motivate, activate and educate against the dark seeds of hatred such as we are witnessing today.
For a time such as this, PJTN exists to turn back the tides of anti-Semitism. As Christians, Jews and people of conscience, we today link arms and join hands and hearts as “family.”
PJTN family—major donors and “Watchmen”-- please join me in prayer today that God will comfort the loved ones of those killed and injured in Pittsburgh. Pray for the Jewish community of Pittsburgh and throughout America. Pray for protection for the people of Israel, who live daily with the threat of attacks from terrorists bent on destroying the Jewish state. And pray for the day when hateful anti-Semitism will be no more, and God will bless His people with His most precious gift -- the gift of shalom, peace.
