General Eisenhower's statement above rings prophetic as I heard the news of the reinstatement last week of William Latson, former principal at Spanish River High School in Boca Raton for his refusal to acknowledge the Holocaust as a historical event in April of 2018.
And when a concerned parent asked Latson to clarify his remarks, he replied, “I can’t say the Holocaust is a factual, historical event because I am not in a position to do so as a school district employee.”
Yes. You read that correctly! The story reached national and international attention, led in great part by a press campaign launched by PJTN demanding his immediate removal. And if that wasn't enough...
Superintendent Latson was recently reinstated, despite his apparent violation of Florida State Statute on Antisemitism which states, "The bill also provides many examples of anti-Semitism, including: ... Accusing Jews as a people or the State of Israel of inventing or exaggerating the Holocaust."
PJTN is once again leading a national effort to create awareness of this shocking story to prevent it from setting a dangerous precedent in other communities.
Would you add your name to our petition demanding that the Palm Beach School Board affirm the gravity of the Holocaust, and enforce violations of antisemitism by refusing to rehire Superintendent Latson, who "can’t say the Holocaust is factual"?
Not on our watch!
In response to the rise of antisemitism nationwide, Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis made international headlines after signing a bill making antisemitism illegal in K-20 in Florida. Additionally, Holocaust education is required to be taught by law, calling “Holocaust denial” illicit.
PJTN is on the march to see every state follow Florida’s example.
As our Holocaust survivors and our World War II veterans leave us, it is incumbent upon all future generations to ensure that the atrocities of the Nazis are accurately communicated to our future children and their children’s children. Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it—and how can they learn if we are not faithful to teach?
Please go to our homepage at www.pjtn.org and let me know you are behind us on the “Taking Back America’s Children” campaign! Share the video on all your media platforms—we must get the word out to the masses. With less than two weeks until the most important vote in our lifetime—learn the issues and vote your values—from the top of the ticket to the bottom! ALL politics are local—your school board, city, county and state officials will mandate the quality of your future and that of your children…
