Press Release 12.16.16
(New York, NY) – 16 December 2016 – Laurie Cardoza-Moore, founder and President of pro-Israel Christian organization Proclaiming Justice to The Nations, and who serves as a Special Envoy to the UN for the World Council of Independent Christian Churches, is among those nationally influential voices today joining the chorus of praise for President-Elect Donald Trump’s selection of David Friedman for the post of Ambassador to Israel.
She noted in a release this morning: “David Friedman represents a political and spiritual shift for Israel and America. Having a strong man of faith who understands Israel’s biblical, historical, and legal right to the land of Israel is a monumental achievement in the US relationship with our closest friend and ally, Israel.”
Friedman has challenged the widespread view that Israeli settlement activity is illegal and opposes a ban on construction activity in the West Bank and East Jerusalem-particularly those places that would be part of a future agreement involving land swaps. He has voiced the opinion that Trump will stand by his promise to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem.
In a statement issued by Trump’s transition team Friedman said we look forward to moving the US embassy to “Israel’s Eternal Capital-Jerusalem.”
The Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 requires the US government to move the embassy to Jerusalem but the move has been waived every six months since the law was passed. Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama all declined to relocate the embassy after being elected, citing national security.
Added Cardoza Moore, “We applaud his nomination and pray that Mr. Friedman will be the first US Ambassador to succeed in overseeing the historic relocation of our US Embassy to the place it rightfully belongs in Jerusalem.” In the words of the prophet Isaiah: “For out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
Proclaiming Justice to the Nations (PJTN), a 501c3 non-profit organization, was established to educate Christians about their Biblical responsibility to stand with their Jewish brethren and Israel, utilizing powerful film and video presentations, a variety of grassroots rallies, events and speaking engagements to facilitate dialogue between the Christian and Jewish communities in support of the State of Israel and against global genocidal anti-Semitism. In recent months the organization has led the struggle against BDS in America with a wave of state resolutions and the upcoming 2017 release of a new documentary film “Boycott This!” that will expose the truth behind the BDS movement.
