Leading Voice In The War On Anti-Semitism Challenges Debate With Georgia Congressman Who Compares Trump To Hitler

(Nashville, TN) –January 4, 2019 –Laurie Cardoza-Moore, a leading voice in the war on anti-Semitism through her watchdog organization, Proclaiming Justice to The Nations (PJTN) has today issued a challenge to debate U.S. Representative Hank Johnson, a Georgia Democrat who this week compared Donald Trump’s election as president to the rise of Adolf Hitler in Germany.

Speaking from the pulpit of Friendship Baptist Church at an event sponsored by the NAACP in Atlanta, Johnson noted: “Hitler rode a wave of nationalism and anti-Semitism to power.  Replace ‘anti-Semitism’ with ‘All Latinos crossing our borders are rapists, drug dealers and murderers’…does that sound familiar?”

Johnson went on in his remarks to add:  “Americans elected an authoritarian, racist, anti-immigrant strongman to the nation’s highest office.  Americans, particularly black Americans, can’t afford to make that same mistake about the harms that could come by a man named Hitler, or a man named Trump.”

Laurie Cardoza-Moore today condemned the Georgia congressman’s comments as “outrageous and egregious” adding, “Representative Johnson is an obvious peddler of revisionist history.  And this unfortunate tirade presented from the pulpit of a Christian church.”

She added:  “He needs to go back and review history as it pertains to Hitler and the rise of the Nazis to power in Germany.  It was actually the leftists in the German universities who were peddling anti-Semitic hatred toward the Jews to future generations.  President Trump is fed up with the liberal establishment on the higher-education campuses.  Another initiative that the leftists support today is the anti-Semitic boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel.  The Nazis started boycotting Jewish businesses right before they started rounding up the Jews to slaughter them in the town squares across Germany.  Trump moved the U.S. Embassy to its rightful place, Jerusalem!  All the BDS proponents condemned him for it.  Trump is a Nazi?  No intelligent person who knows factual history believes your disinformation, Mr. Johnson.”

Her closing remarks added:  “I would like to challenge Rep. Johnson to a debate in Atlanta at a location of his choice.  Perhaps the same Friendship Baptist Church where his spate of inflammatory disinformation was first unleashed would be the ideal since I hope as a Christian senior pastor of a respected and historical church, Dr. Wills would also be outraged that this   partisan, divisive incident happened in his church, on his watch.  I’ll await response.”
