Independence Day Message From PJTN
As we today celebrate our independence as a nation, I, and the entire PJTN staff, want to wish you a day that is filled with celebration as we reflect on our liberty and freedom!
In 1751, the liberty bell was cast with the words from Leviticus 25:10 to "Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof . . ."
At PJTN, we are reminded we not only must be “watchmen on the wall” over God’s chosen land of Israel, but we must also be diligent to maintain our watch over America. We are facing the most challenging of times in the ongoing battle against antisemitism and an insidious battle being waged against our liberties, our way of life and our Judeo-Christian values; the values on which America was built. We must hold fast to our responsibility in the face of this daunting challenge. Benjamin Franklin said: “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain temporary safety, deserve neither liberty or safety.”
America, we need God’s wisdom for the days ahead. 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
I want to re-share an article about the Judeo-Christian heritage that influenced our Biblical legacy and our responsibility to uphold that birthright. Whether Christian or Jewish home—I hope you will share it today as you gather to celebrate our independence.
Yes, we are a broken land in need of healing. But the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob gives us promise that healing is within our reach! Pray as you celebrate today that America will forever be the land “of the free” because of the brave. As Watchmen on the Wall, we will do our part to make it so!
Blessings over the peace of Jerusalem and our United States of America this 4th of July.
