De Blasio's antisemitic rant incites more antisemitism in NYC

Who could’ve imagined just a few short weeks ago, our lives would be so radically and, we are being told, irrevocably changed? With the siege of the Coronavirus sweeping the globe, life for the masses of people around the world has been radically—sometimes tragically—impacted. As we pray, we must ask what has God revealed to each of us during this time of worldwide shaking?

To me, He has revealed that the work of PJTN has never been more vitally needed!

We desperately need your help to continue our impact on all fronts in the war against antisemitism which is skyrocketing on all fronts globally…

In the wake of the pandemic, the ongoing war against antisemitism has exposed a revival of “medieval blood libels.” As Covid-19 was birthed as I’ve mentioned before in the recesses of time last year, physical manifestations of antisemitism against people and property were spiking globally of over 18% according to the Kantor Center at Tel Aviv University. Extremists on the right and left have used the internet and social media platforms to blame the Jews and Israel for the spread of COVID-19 or for benefitting from it. The language and imagery used clearly identify a revival of the medieval ‘blood libels’ and the days that led to the Holocaust when Jews were accused of spreading disease, poisoning wells or controlling economies.

In New York City just last week, supporters of Rabbi Chaim Mertz who reportedly died from the COVID-19 virus were called into national scrutiny by Mayor Bill de Blasio for gathering to mourn the loss of their beloved leader. Threatening to arrest “the Jewish community” for violation of social distancing by a minority faction, cast a further shadow that validated Jew-hatred and a backlash of antisemitic violence and response in America’s largest city. This is unacceptable and the Mayor needs to step down from his office as he is “unfit to serve” as the leader of a city that is home to the one million-plus Jewish community he was set in place to serve. “Rounding up” the Jewish community for arrest in the public forum speaks of a time we must never allow to re-emerge.

PJTN is making a national call for Mayor de Blasio to step down as he did not defend the constitutional rights of the citizens that he swore an oath to uphold.

As a result of his lack of leadership, his actions have ignited a firestorm of antisemitism.

In the midst of the crisis that would serve to silence our voices, I am today reminded of the sobering words of Thomas Jefferson when he said: "All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent."

PJTN was born for “such a time as this.” Not to remain sheltered in place, or remain silent before our enemies, both seen and unseen, but to run boldly into the battle, to rush towards the roar of hatred and antisemitism, and to stand side-by-side as Christians and Jews committed to a higher purpose in the new reality that lies ahead for our world. We are committed to pushing back at the darkness with the light of God’s truth.

I must have your support to keep the forces of PJTN in the frontlines. The month of May is crucial. PJTN’s presence must not be allowed to fade to black. We must stand arm-in-arm. I cannot do it without you!

Thank you for your faithful support during these difficult weeks!
Your donations make all we do possible.

I prayerfully hope that God will be shown strong on your behalf, that He will protect you and yours and He will direct your steps to continue to stand with me.
