As an American, and as a strong supporter of the Jewish community, I am urging you to veto AB-101.
If signed into law, as you are aware, California would become the first state in the U.S. to make ethnic studies a graduation requirement. Other states may follow suit.
The passage of this bill should concern not only every parent but also every American!
The curriculum is anti-Semitic.
It is anti-Israel.
Influential teacher's unions and professors support curriculum published by "Liberated Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum Institute," falsely describing Zionism - the expression of the Jewish people's right to live in their biblical and ancestral homeland as a "nationalist, colonial ideology" and accuses Israel of being an "apartheid" state.
It does not reflect the Judeo-Christian values our nation was founded upon.
It is racist.
It is this type of curriculum that historically incites antisemitism and anti-Israelism.
What happens in California, will influence other state educational systems and, ultimately, millions of students across our nation.
We must not allow our next generation of leadership in America, our children, to be indoctrinated with anti-Semitic hatred!
Governor Newsom, I am adding my voice to those of multitudes of other concerned Americans in opposing the passage of AB-101.
