By Jewish Journal | I have spent much of my adult life working to bring Jews and Christians together. In particular, I have tried to explain to fellow Jews that traditional Christians are our best friends in the world today. Moreover, I believe that America’s founders, virtually every one a Christian, developed the best value system ever applied to a society. And they did so by basing their Christianity on the moral ideals of the Hebrew Bible — the inscription on the Liberty Bell is from the Torah — and by universalizing those values. What are known as Judeo-Christian values became America’s core values and formed the finest country ever made. Nevertheless, while there is such a thing as Judeo-Christian values, no one speaks of “Judeo-Christian theology.” Judaism and Christianity differ theologically — primarily around the identity of Jesus of Nazareth — and that is what nearly everyone who thinks about Christian-Jewish differences thinks about. But there are other differences between Christians/Christianity and Jews/Judaism that are not all related to Jesus, and that can help explain Jews and Christians to each other. Read more…. PJTN stands with the Jewish State of Israel as a culture of life.Join PJTN in our stand with—and for—Israel…

The post Jews and Christians appeared first on PJTN.

Joseph, a Christian Arab told Israel’s daily Ma’ariv that her good luck charm is a drawing of the Star of David with the caption: “I have no other land, even when my ground is burning.” Her commander drew it for her.

By Israel Today | As the polls closed in Israel’s 2013 general election, officials recorded high voter turnout, and exit polls showed a very narrow victory for the currently ruling right-wing parties. At least 64 percent of eligible Israeli voters turned out on Tuesday, the highest turnout since the hotly contested 1999 election. As expected, exit polls showed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party will remain the largest faction in the Knesset, but the results were far from impressive for the ruling party. According to exit polls, the combined Likud-Israel Beiteinu faction won just 31 seats in the next Knesset, and the right-wing overall will control 61 seats to the left’s 59. That means that while Netanyahu will still likely be the obvious choice to form the next government, he won’t have an easy time forging a stable coalition.

By Israel Today | Israel’s election is over, and the final tally is more or less known. Now starts the real struggle over forging a stable governing coalition, and with the relatively poor showing by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanayhu’s Likud Party, that’s going to be no easy task. In the previous Knesset, Likud had 27 seats and allied right-wing party Israel Beiteinu had another 15. The two parties decided to merge for the current election, but the scheme didn’t pay off. Early polls predicted the combined Likud-Beiteinu would take 45 seats, but exit polls on Wednesday showed it had won just 31 mandates. On top of that, the right-wing Jewish Home and the Orthodox Shas parties were less successful than predicted, winning just 11 seats apiece. That means the religious-right of the Israeli political spectrum will control just 60 out of 120 seats in the 19th Knesset, and Netanyahu will be unable to form a stable right-wing coalition.

By Algemeiner | A successful journalist, TV host, actor, writer, and even playwright, Yair Lapid’s foray into politics not more than a year ago has proven to be a success, too. Lapid and his Yesh Atid party blew away expectations and are projected to take 18-19 seats in the Knesset when final election results are released. Though Lapid surprised many, he didn’t exactly appear out of thin air. Before entering politics in January 2012, Lapid’s fame was so far-reaching that a Ynet poll once ranked him as one of the top 40 Israelis of all-time. A familiar comparison for Lapid is to Barak Obama because of his youth, swagger and energy. Amir Mizroch, an editor at Israel Hayom, wrote of the similarities between the two on Tuesday: “Like US President Barack Obama when he ran for his first term, Lapid is someone who is banking on a message of change; change in the political system, change in the nation’s fiscal and social priorities, change in the education system, change to the rules of national burden: he promises that he will work for seismic changes to the national fabric of Israeli society: the ultra-Orthodox must serve in the army or national service and they must join the workforce etc.” Read more….. PJTN stands with the Jewish State...

The post As Israel’s Yair Lapid Surprises in Elections He Draws Comparisons to Obama and Reagan appeared first on PJTN.

By Walid Shoebat | Regular readers to this site probably remember the name Abdullah Omar Naseef. He is the founder of the Institute of Muslim Minority Affairs (IMMA), the organization at which Huma Abedin served as an assistant editor for approximately twelve years. During the controversy that involved Abedin and letters sent by Michele Bachmann to various Inspectors General that expressed concerns about Muslim Brotherhood infiltration – Fox News noticeably went out of its way to avoid the story, except when coverage of it was helpful to the deputy chief of staff to Hillary Clinton. One very big reason for that might just be found in an article by Diana West. While it’s common knowledge that Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is the second largest shareholder of News Corp., Fox’s parent company, perhaps not as widely known is Murdoch’s ownership stake in a media company owned by Alwaleed.

By Jewish Press | If this is how the poor Palestinians are living, I can only wish some day God grants me such poverty. I met an Arab contractor from Hevron many years ago. We were considering having him build our home. He invited us to his home in Hevron but since it’s illegal for me to go there, not to mention potentially dangerous, I never managed that visit. We got in a discussion one time about cultures and soon realized we were speaking different languages. He was trying to explain about his family and why it was really so much better than my culture. You see, he has two wives. One is this beautiful young Russian woman who was in her very early 20s at the time. The second one was an Arab woman, “the pathetic one” he called her. She was 46 at the time (and so was I). She had borne him his children and was still his wife but he had taken another – the young one.

By Front Page Mag | A video disseminated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) should blow a giant hole in the fantasy the Obama administration refers to as their Muslim “outreach” initiative. Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi is shown in 2010 delivering an anti-Semitic diatribe, during which he referred to “the Zionists” as “bloodsuckers,” “warmongers,” and “the descendants of apes and pigs.” He also called for “military resistance within the land of Palestine,” further noting that the PLO “was created by the Zionist and American enemies.” The tape is a compilation of excerpts from two different interviews given by Morsi on March 20 and September 23 in 2010. MEMRI discovered the footage, translated it, and combined it into the aforementioned video. Morsi was a member of the Guidance Office of the Muslim Brotherhood when he delivered the remarks. “The Zionists have no right to the land of Palestine,” he said March 20. “There is no place for them on the land of Palestine. What they took before 1947-8 constitutes plundering, and what they are doing now is a continuation of this plundering. By no means do we recognize their Green Line. The land of Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, not to the Zionists.” Read more…..

By Jewish Press | When my daughter first made aliyah she was a student at Hebrew University. After a year she called me and told me she was enlisting. I still remember, when I was a boy of just seven, walking with my father, early on the morning of 6th October, 1973, to synagogue. He had promised me that I could break my fast shortly after arriving. Now, he stopped me en route and told me a war had just broke out in Israel and the small Jewish nation was fighting for its very life. The situation was dire. I should show God added devotion by fasting longer in deference to the life mortal struggle of my fellow Jews. I was upset, I was starving, but I did as he asked and broke my fast after mid-day. That Yom Kippur was my first memory of an Israeli war. We feverishly watched the news over the next few days until Israel finally began to turn the tide and push its enemies back.
